Our CHAPLAICY

History, priests, pastoral council, and presbytery of our community.

Our HISTORY

Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit.

Our chaplaincy officially commenced its spiritual activities on March 6, 1994, at the St. Joseph Church in Goncourt, under the leadership of Rev. Fr. Jebamalai Thurom, O.M.I.

Later, during the tenure of Rev. Fr. Maria Sebastian, O.M.I., on June 28, 1998, an office space was allocated for our use within an apartment complex located at 47 Rue de la Roquette, 75011 Paris.

Recognizing our dedicated activities and cooperation, the Archbishop of Paris granted the Sri Lankan Tamil Catholic community the use of the Chapel of Our Lady of Reconciliation (Notre-Dame Réconciliatrice) on October 31, 1999. Located at 57 Boulevard de Belleville, 75011 Paris, this premises included both a parish hall and administrative offices. To this day, this historic date is celebrated as our Chaplaincy Feast Day.

The honor of securing this chapel belongs entirely to Rev. Fr. Maria Sebastian, O.M.I., while the path toward this achievement was paved by Fr. Francis, the then-parish priest of the St. Joseph Church in Goncourt. Upon receiving the property, an agreement was signed stating that the chaplaincy would assume full responsibility for the maintenance of the building.

It is no exaggeration to say that the chapel stands beautifully renovated today thanks to the tireless efforts of our Spiritual Directors and the generous contributions of the Catholic faithful
