The Sacrament of Baptism is a sacred milestone in your child’s spiritual journey. To ensure a meaningful preparation, please review the guidelines, required documentation, and scheduling process below:
Guidelines & Requirements
- Language & Location: Baptism services are celebrated strictly in Tamil and take place exclusively at the parishes where our Tamil Holy Masses are regularly conducted.
- Advance Notice: Parents must inform the Chaplaincy at least four (4) months in advance of their desired timeline to begin the registration and planning process.
- Preparation Classes: Godparents are required to attend mandatory baptismal preparation classes. These sessions help them fully understand their spiritual role and responsibilities in guiding the child in the Catholic faith.
- Scheduling: Before finalizing any family arrangements, please check directly with the Parish Priest to confirm available dates and times for the ceremony.
Required Documentation
Please gather and submit the following official documents when registering for the sacrament:
- Child’s Birth Certificate (Copie intégrale de l’acte de naissance)
- Baptism Certificates of Both Godparents (Certificat de baptême)
- Proof of Residence / Address (Justificatif de domicile)

Marriage

We are joyful to accompany you as you prepare for the Sacrament of Holy Marriage. Because a Catholic marriage involves both spiritual preparation and formal administrative steps, please review the requirements and timelines below.
Important Timelines & Steps
- Initial Consultation: Couples must meet with the Parish Priest before making any definitive wedding arrangements. The final wedding date must be consulted and confirmed directly with him.
- Document Submission: All required documents must be fully prepared and submitted at least three (3) months prior to the proposed wedding date.
- Pre-Cana Preparation: Couples are required to attend the official marriage preparation classes and must present their completion certificate.
- The PNI Form: The Projet de Vie / Canonical Inquiry (PNI) form must be filled out and signed in the presence of the Parish Priest.
Required Documentation
Please gather and submit the following documents to complete your marriage file:
- Civil Marriage Certificate / Registration Copy: (Acte de mariage civil)
- Birth Certificate: Must be a fresh copy issued within three (3) months of your submission date (Extrait d’acte de naissance de moins de 3 mois).
- Certified French Translation: (For immigrants/foreign-born citizens) If your birth certificate is not in French, an official translation by a sworn translator (traducteur assermenté) is strictly required.
- Baptism Certificate for Marriage: A specific baptismal copy issued for marriage purposes (Extrait de baptême pour mariage), requested directly from the church where you were baptized.
- Marriage Preparation Course Certificate: (Attestation de préparation au mariage).
- Proof of Residence / Address: (Justificatif de domicile).
- Letter of Permission: If you reside outside our parish territory or wish to marry at a church other than our main Belleville chapel (Notre-Dame Réconciliatrice), you must obtain an official letter of permission and approval from your local parish priest.

Sacrament of Reconciliation (Confession)
"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness." — 1 John 1:9
The Sacrament of Reconciliation is a beautiful opportunity to experience God’s mercy and spiritual healing.
- Schedule: Confessions are available every Tuesday and Friday, immediately following the 17:00 (5:00 PM) Holy Mass.
- Location: Please note that these regular confession times are held exclusively at our main chaplaincy chapel:

If you require confession outside of these scheduled days or need to speak with the priest for spiritual direction, please feel free to request for an appointment.
Funeral Services & Support
During times of loss and mourning, our chaplaincy stands with our community in prayer and spiritual solidarity.
Please note our guidelines regarding final commendation and funeral services:
- Service Location: Our chaplaincy chapel does not directly host funeral services on-site. Families are advised to make funeral arrangements with their local parish church or the designated church managing the service.
- Priest Availability: While the service takes place at an external church, our Parish Priest / Spiritual Director is available to attend and officiate the Catholic funeral rites at the church where you have made the arrangements.
Support & Coordination: If you have lost a loved one, please contact the Chaplaincy as soon as possible before finalizing the service details so we can coordinate scheduling with the officiating priest and support your family through prayer.
Parish Hall Booking
Our chaplaincy hall (Belleville) is available to rent for community gatherings, religious milestones, and cultural events. Please review our guidelines and contact details below if you wish to reserve the space.
Approved Events & Functions
The hall can be booked for the following occasions:
- Sacramental Celebrations: Baptism and Wedding receptions.
- Memorials: Post-funeral gatherings and Death Remembrance Mass fellowships.
- Community Events: Village gatherings, parish association meetings, and Feast Day celebrations.
- Cultural Events: Book releases and literary/cultural programs.
Important Restrictions
Strict Policy on Political Events: To maintain the sacred and neutral nature of our parish community, the hall is not available for any political gatherings, campaigns, or politically motivated events under any circumstances.
